Autumn Afternoon: Sandhill cranes are one of my favorite birds in Florida. Their size (nearly 4 feet tall with a 7 foot wingspan) and noble dignity is a sight to behold. This painting was inspired by a trio of sandhills that visited our side field one afternoon. The birds mate for life and keep their young at their side until they are nearly full grown.
This painting has been published in Wildlife Art Magazine and has won numerous awards- it will always be one of my favorites!
