Our chipmunk, Chippy, found heaven this past month when she discovered our deck tray feeder. Her nest is under our screen porch so she's now part of our daily entertainment.	Rachelle explores the rocks around the Spruce Flats Waterfall for interesting compostions.
News: * Show season is again upon us! We're eager to see all of you and our art show gang again starting this month in Decatur, Alabama. * Shows and exhibits have been added into our schedule. Our most productive season to date has allowed us to send out paintings to more venues than usual this year.
Wes stops eating his Subway sandwich long enough to be photographed for the website.
Interesting Updates: * Sorry for the shorter than normal newsletter and lack of photos but you can tell from all the new paintings on the website what we've been doing this past month. * On the easels: Rachelle is currently still painting her MASF entries. The last one will be "Ellie", her family's pet goat. Wes is working on songbirds. He painted all three backgrounds on the same day and is now doing the birds: a Tufted Titmouse, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and an Eastern Bluebird.
Our Adventures: * We hiked to Spruce Flats Falls near our home last month and we'll be joining our gang of friends for a hike to the summit of Mt. LeConte on the 9th of this month. * Rachelle's grandmother is doing worse which grieves us. We recently learned that another dear friend passed away unexpectedly. We cherish the memories of their smiles and laughter. We took in several music/ theater shows this past month with friends including the Harvest Celebration at Dollywood. Outstanding music was heard everywhere at the annual Townsend Old Timer's Festival. Featuring Bluegrass and Appalachian music and lifestyle it's our kind of party. We volunteer at the Festivals in our city working the Coke Booth for the Visitor's Bureau. We also helped out our local library this time around with Wes grilling over a hundred hamburgers while Rachelle assisted in assembling the meals.
Critter Encounters: * Yard Bird List: 88 species. Our feeders have been remarkably quiet with only an occasional visit from a squirrel. Chippy is a regular entertainer. It has been a good year for the Cardinals. They're still feeding babies at the feeders and Wes counted 13 on the deck, all immature, at one time!
