News: * Rachelle's "Emerald Tree Boa" was chosen to highlight the "Art of the Rainforest Exhibition" on both websites for The Wildlife Experience and The Canton Museum of Art! * We each received awards in the annual Cider Painters International Miniature Show with Wes winning the Aviary Award on his "Dozing Ducklings" and Rachelle taking the Americana Award on "Alum Cave Bluffs". * Our website and email were offline for several days due to damage to our host facility in Boca Raton, FL. Power was restored and hopefully all is well. That being said we want to emphasize that we respond to email within a few hours of receiving it. When away exhibiting we typically respond to everything the day after we return. If you send us a message and don't get a reply we didn't get your message. (Oh the joys of the digital age!) We'll be requesting read receipts on our email messages and calling via phone to confirm messages when we're in doubt. * Rachelle received the Robert & Leslie Starke Award for the best work by an artist under age 36 in the 31st Annual International Miniature Show to be held in Dunedin, FL in January. She took the award on "Brooks Lake". * Wes's "The Lady Killer" was featured in the Oct. 12th issue of the Reno Gazette-Journal, Reno, Nevada highlighting the Society of Animal Artist's Exhibition at the Carson City Museum. * Wes's "Bison Along the Yellowstone River"(sold) was awarded the Best of Show in the Annual Mondak Heritage Center's Miniature Exhibition. |

Wes is finishing a Coyote for the Canine Museum Exhibition and Tour and will also be working on commissions this month. |

Rachelle tries her best to get Tricia to have some more peppers on her black and white bean chili. Those that know her can testify that Rachelle loves spicy food. Thai is our favorite! |

Critter Encounters:
* Yard Bird List: 88 species. A Cooper's Hawk landed on our deck rail while we were eating lunch one day. It was great to see it so close. Wes built a cover over the tray feeder to help protect Chippy and the rest of our yard buddies. * We saw flocks of hundreds of Canada and Snow Geese in Maryland as well as a few Bald Eagles. Mallards and Pintails were also present along with some seagulls and shorebirds. |
