Having fun, good food and discussing miniature art with friends
(L to R:) Kay Petryszak, Barb Robertson, Ed Robertson, Mike Petryszak, Rachelle and Marilynne Wasielewski enjoying the food and fellowship during the artist's reception for the 2005 International Miniature Art Show.

News:
* How much fun we had and how honored Rachelle felt to receive the Best of Show at the MASF Exhibition! Thanks to all who were there to help us celebrate.
* We've added a couple of shows to the exhibit schedule - some new...some we just haven't done in a couple of years. We'll have about 40 minis in Charleston. 100% new to the show and about 60% new to all our shows! Yes, we've been busy.
More carrots please!
Rachelle and our dear friend, Lisa Kreiger, having fun feeding Lisa'a babies - Merlin & Hocus Pocus. We spent time with several friends while in Florida. A special thanks to Scott and Elaine Taylor for letting us play with all their critters and tour their lovely home. The Taylors have about 60 miniature horses including M&M who stands only 17 inches tall at his shoulder!
Parlez Vous Francais?
Wes and Chris. R., of Belgium, pose during the awards brunch. Wes did his best to converse with Christian in French since he spoke very little English. After 18 years Wes's French was pretty bad but the two managed a conversation despite the shortcomings. Artists from all over the world participate in the MASF show and many attend the opening ceremonies.
Posing for the newspapers
Rachelle, Kay Petryszak - President of the Miniature Artists of America, Representative Faye Culp - Of the Florida House of Representatives, and Carol Curtiss - President of the Miniature Art Society of Florida, pose for the newspaper photographer beside her award winning work. Several regional newspapers featured Rachelle's artwork during the opening weekend.

Interesting Updates:
* You continue to bless us in so many ways - thanks for all the hugs, laughs and cherished friendships you shower us with each time we see you.
* We'll be attending the Susan Kathleen Black Foundation's artists conference and workshop again this June. Wes serves as the Foundation's webmaster.

Our Adventures:
* As you can discern from all the photos Rachelle's parents, Larry and Sally Davis, joined us at the miniature show. It was their first time to attend a miniature show and they were both completely captivated by all the delicate minis and interesting artists. Of course Rachelle's Dad especially enjoyed the good food despite having to wear a tie!
* Our weird winter weather has allowed us to ride bikes around Townsend several times this past month. We still walk 1-3 miles a day and have done a little yard work. We're both eager to spend more time outside. While in FL we helped Rachelle's parents with some yard work and Wes repaired a section of roof damage from one of the four hurricanes that affected them this past season.
Watching the birds at the beach during breakfast
Rachelle and her parents enjoy breakfast with a view. We had liquid sunshine the first day of our stay in FL with cold winds. Thankfully conditions improved as the week progressed.
Love this special lady!
Wes gets a hug from our dear friend Bappy Wise. Bappy, 92, has attended all 30 of the International Miniature shows. This year we honored all the artists who had participated in 20 or more exhibitions. Four had been in all 30. Several of the artists participating in the show were 90+. How exciting to look forward to so many more years for each of us to paint!
Laughing during the award photos
A family photo while we're all dressed up and having fun.
Critter Encounters:
* Yard Bird List: 83 species. The woodpeckers are enjoying their suet.
* A path is still being worn into the compost each night by the possum and the other critters getting our table scraps. Apparently a field mouse has decided to use our back door mat as stuffing for his home .
