A Wildlife Artists Party!
Rachelle with about a dozen of our fellow wildlife artists celebrating at a Mexican restaurant in Tulsa, OK during the 2005 NatureWorks Wildlife Art Show.

News:
* Wes received awards in the Miniatures in Mariposa show in Mariposa, CA. (see our awards page)
* We're currently painting numerous works for submissions into shows. They'll be posted to the website once we know their status.

Interesting Updates:
* We'll start on your commission paintings this month and will be available to work on commissions throughout the summer.

Our Adventures:
* Our adventures for the last couple of weeks have been limited to looking out the studio window in between paintings. We've put more hours in at our easels this past month getting ready for all the shows. We're eager for summer when we get a chance to take a break and play awhile!
* We've biked the 12 mile loop around Townsend on a weekly basis trying to work off some of the winter goodies.
* The Great Squirrel Wars ~ Spring 2005: We've been overrun by an army of squirrels this spring. As many as 11 of them have been on our deck fighting for key positions at the 4 feeders placed around the rails. To say we've been laughing our heads off hardly covers the fun we've been having watching and listening to their antics. (A few photos are posted below)
There's not enough food out here! Bring us another bag of sunflower seeds!
An image with five of our furry deck vaccum cleaners.
This is yummy
One of the furry rats enjoys the salt lick on the deck.
Back off Pal! This one's mine!
Another fight over one of the feeder boxes. Wes was able to get most of the hilarity on video.
Chester's favorite restaurant
Chester squirrel enjoys the best seat in the restaurant during a spring drizzle.

Two chunky squirrels adding more fat rolls onto their bellies at our expense. When two get inside the jar it looks like a dryer spinning clothes!
Critter Encounters:
* Yard Bird List: 83 species. The bluebirds, Song Sparrows and Chickadees are all starting to nest in the yard. The rabbits are satisfying their ravaging appetites on the bushes and flowers despite our free handouts of alfalfa cubes (yes, they eat the cubes too). A pair of Pileated Woodpeckers has been systematically converting our logs and stumps into mulch. We're especially excited to have our snakes and lizards back out now that the temps are on the rise.
