Pausing on the Spruce Flats Falls trail near our home - one of our favorite hikes! |

News Highlights: * Shows: Both of us had works juried into the Bennington Center for the Arts, Art of the Animal Kingdom XIII exhibition and Rachelle also had work chosen for their Small Works show. We also each had work chosen by the jury for the first annual Art for Conservation Exhibition. We're updating the exhibit schedule as new shows are confirmed and trying our best to denote at which shows you'll be able to come see us in person. We know with our limited time and painting schedule that we'll have to probably skip some of the museum venues that we had planned to attend. * We're really excited about our trip this month to California for the Reflections of Nature Exhibition and plan to take in the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park with several other artist friends.

Our front yard is ablaze with color in the spring especially when the creeping phlox blooms. This is the view we see from our windows. |
A view of our home showing one of the redbud trees and a blooming tulip. This week all the Irises are blooming. |

Interesting Updates: * Commissions will be started in May. Thanks for everyone's patience. * On the easels: We're both currently working on portraits although we'll be working together after our return from California to create the Featured Artwork for the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival in November in Thomasville, GA. |

Rachelle's dad, Larry tries his hand at chopsticks and Thai food - both a first for him! |
Rachelle tries her best to get her sister, Hayley, addicted to spicy Thai food (our personal favorite!) |

Our Recent Memory Makers:
• We took in a couple of hikes while Rachelle's family visited with us including Spruce Flats and Cataract Falls. We had a grand time getting them to try Thai food at our favorite area restaurant: Lemon Grass. •The Garden has been planted and is growing very well. We've been enjoying fresh asparagus almost daily. •Canasta parties with the neighbors still have the guys ahead of the gals in winning games. •We joined fellow wildlife artist, Terry Donahue and his family for dinner and then watched his daughter perform in the Country Tonight show in Pigeon Forge. The next day Terry and his wife, Deb, came over to see our home and the "peaceful side of the smokies". |

Our first baby bunny of 2008 is just too cute! He was barely the size of Wes's fist when we first saw him. |

Critter Encounters:
* Yard Bird List: 96 with us adding a spectacular male Hooded Warbler. Birds are starting to nest in the yard and our baby bunny is enjoying the buffet of phlox outside our bedroom window. |
