We're still consulting with marketing experts and our accountants about how to adapt our business to increase our income to allow us to keep the Porsche. Unfortunately Rachelle isn't sure she can pull the five 24 hour weekly painting shifts required to produce that much inventory. We may have to paint a few larger images or drastically increase our prices. ~ A special thanks to our dear friend, Don Weiser, for treating us to the rides and drives of a lifetime and a few days of fun vacation over in Brevard. Check out Don's wonderful photography of his backyard white squirrels: www.whitesquirrelart.com. Don's Cards, Notecards, & Book make great gifts! His book, "REWARD, Lost Cat, The Search For Spock" is great for cat lovers too. |

News: * More shows have been confirmed and we continue to receive requests for our work to be sent to new venues. Our noses are currently at the grindstones as we're painting long and hard to try to do it all. We've pulled a couple of our "permanent collection" paintings out of retirement to send to some of these shows and a few will be receiving some of our slightly larger works. (See the exhibits page for the additional shows...and more are being added!) * We'll be attending the opening festivities at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's Birds in Art Exhibition this month to kick off our 2006-2007 season. We look forward to seeing some of you there! * Rachelle's "Emerald Tree Boa" continues to crawl it's way into our history books as the most highly advertised image of our work. This month the painting was chosen by The Wildlife Experience Museum to highlight the Rainforest Exhibition on their website. Ten of our miniatures will be on display until November 19th at the Museum located in Parker, CO. (just outside Denver) * Thank you for your recent commissions. We're working on them in between everything else. |

Both of us giving it our best effort to catch some salamanders to show some friends up close. |
Rachelle and our friends, Fred and Barb Weiser, pick some fresh raspberries in Cashiers,NC during our three day vacation in the area. |

Interesting Updates: * On the easels: Rachelle is putting the final touches on a Rooster and Wes is currently working on a top secret commission. Both of us will be doing traditional miniatures this month for our miniature shows. |

Rachelle poses beside a waterfall on a trail in Brevard, NC. |
Rachelle at Whitewater Falls in NC. The falls is the largest east of the Mississippi and is breathtaking...yes, it's inspired a future painting! |
Enjoying a wonderful dinner at the Leconte Lodge with friends! (pictured: Rachelle, John & Donna Willingham, Woody & Sharon Washam and their kids Brian & Kirsten. Wes and Kirsten's husband Phil didn't make the photo.) |
Wes at Myrte Point atop LeConte watching the sunrise. Shortly afterwards the fog and clouds rolled in turning the entire scene into a milky pea soup. The fog and clouds persisted the rest of the morning as we made our descent down the mountain. What a treat to encounter the Llama supply train making their trek to the top. |

Our Adventures: * We hosted another week of painting in our basement with friends. It's inspiring to watch each other work and insightful learning about each other's personal history. The workshop was also very productive with each of us finishing several paintings. * Recent memory makers: Our hike to the summit of Mt. LeConte and stay at the Lodge on top were life highlights for both of us and something we plan to do again in the future. A special thanks to John and Donna for inviting us to join in their fun! We've also been enjoying the monthly concerts at the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center here in Townsend. Rachelle, the Florida native, was happy to get back into a swimming pool this month with friends, Paula and Barb, at the Big Valley Resort and we're still putting the miles on our bikes everyday as the weather allows. |

Our resident female box turtle thinks we're just the greatest after finding our watermelon treat. |
Chester, one of our many squirrels enjoys one of the apples from our tree. The squirrels, raccoons and rabbits managed to eat nearly all the apples this year. We gladly gave them up to watch the critters enjoy them so much. |

Critter Encounters:
* Yard Bird List: 91 species with us adding Purple Martins. * As you can see from the photos our critters are enjoying the fruits of late summer! It's a sheer delight eating our daily lunch on the screen porch watching all the activity displayed in the yard before us. |
